前沢ガーデンハウス（1982年竣工、槇総合計画事務所設計）の広大な庭園の一角に建つ、劇場のホワイエとして利用されるあずまやの計画です。屋根を16本の立ち木（シラカシとスギ）が支える半屋外の建築です。樹木で覆われた崖の裾にあり、外から見れば半分森に身を隠し自然の一部のように見えます。内に入ると、森の冷気と暗がりが人を神話的な世界に誘います。

This is a plan for an arbor, which will be used as a foyer for a theater, in a corner of the vast garden of the Maezawa Garden House (completed in 1982, designed by Maki & Associates). The roof is a semi-outdoor structure supported by 16 standing white oaks and cedar trees. Located at the foot of a tree-covered cliff, it appears from the outside to be a part of nature, half hidden in the forest. Once inside, the cool air and darkness of the forest lures one into a mythical world.
