年に一度、路上駐車スペースを一日限定の公園に変えてみようというPark(ing)Dayの活動。これまで全国15都市で開催してきたPark(ing)Dayの活動を振り返りつつ、その後の各地のまちづくりの様子も展示する展覧会の、会場構成と什器の設計を担当しました。
横断歩道や車線の白線、フェンスや標識など、路上にあるものを用いて会場を道路空間に見立てました。路上駐車スペースで座ってくつろぎ、展示も眺められるPark(ing)Dayならではの展示スペースとしました。
コーヒーテーブルと展示パネルは、既存の石巻工房のベンチにハックする形状で新たにつくり、隣接するカフェの利用客を呼び込みました。

Park(ing)Day is an annual event in which street parking spaces are transformed into parks for one day only. We were in charge of designing the venue and furnitures for the exhibition, which reviewed Park(ing)Day activities that had been held in 15 cities across Japan, and the local community development activities had taken place since then.
We designed the venue to resemble a road space using items found on the street, such as crosswalks, white lines, fences, and signs. We created an exhibition space unique to Park(ing)Day, where visitors can sit, relax, and view the exhibition in a street parking space.
The coffee table and display panels were newly created in the form of a hack into the existing benches of the Ishinomaki Workshop to attract customers using the adjacent cafe.
